Casa Jovem Mesquita Coréia – Instituto Devolver
Casa Jovem Mesquita Coréia
Created after a personal experience of the founder in which she lost a close relative to the world of drugs, she then decided to open a place where she could offer a different destination to children and young people. The institution's mission is to contribute to the social inclusion of children, adolescents and their families, through education and culture, enabling autonomy to participate in society. Currently, it serves 120 families with children and adolescents from 0 to 14 years old.
They see the family as a system, in which parents and mother must also be part and need to be included in activities, participating in guidance and assistance in how to deal with children. For the children to be able to participate in the project, the guardians need to meet mothers, this happens every first Saturday of the month. In this meeting, several themes are approached: empowerment, domestic violence and self-esteem, where mothers are also encouraged to complete their studies.

At the house, the children do activities during school hours such as tutoring, crafts, conversation and study workshops. They also organize tours and leisure activities, such as going to the circus, amusement park, cinema, Cristo Redentor, AquaRio, among others. In addition, they develop sponsorship campaigns, with which they are able to buy school supplies, Easter eggs, toys, clothes and new shoes for those served.
