The Social Work São Luís is a non-profit civil society organization operating in the city of Lorena, in the interior of São Paulo’s Paraíba Valley. It provides socio-pedagogical assistance and professional development to a diverse audience, including children, adolescents, youth, adults, the elderly, and families.

Founded on March 19, 1902, the Social Work São Luís was established based on the Preventive System of the holy founder of the Salesians Congregation, Dom Bosco. The organization focuses on providing support to children, adolescents, youth, and adults in the city facing social vulnerability. Today, it conducts approximately 390 daily sessions during the school’s off-hours, all free of charge, through three services and five projects maintained by the institution: the SCFV (Social Conviviality and Strengthening of Bonds Service), the CEDESP (Center for Social and Productive Development), and the PAIF (Integral Family Assistance Program).

        • SCFV: The Social Conviviality and Strengthening of Bonds Service (SCFV) is a space dedicated to the conviviality and strengthening of family and community ties. Through playful, artistic, sports, and human development activities, it aims to provide social protection to children and adolescents aged 6 to 17 years and 11 months. The program focuses on developing their potentials and fostering acquisitions for the achievement of autonomy, protagonism, and citizenship. The project consists of three programs: PROVIM (Better Life Program) – for children aged 6 to 10 years, ADOLESCER – for pre-adolescents aged 11 to 14 years, and ESPAÇO JOVEM – for adolescents aged 15 to 17 years and 11 months.
        • CEDESP: The professional qualification courses, combined with workshops on the world of work and human formation, aim to stimulate autonomy and foster leadership, dialogue, and the strengthening of social and familial bonds through experiences and actions within a project that guides the trajectory of each individual in their personal and professional life, by means of integrating life projects and the job market: CEDESP (Social and Productive Development Center) – Youth and Adults aged 18 to 59.
        • PAIF: The Integral Family Assistance Program provides a space dedicated to the conviviality and strengthening of family and community ties focused on families. Through various workshops such as creative sewing, entrepreneurship, communication, group discussions, sports, and dance, the program aims to restore self-awareness and the reestablishment of bonds. The project consists of one program: BÚSSOLA – for young adults, adults, and seniors aged 18 to 80 years.
